Job summary

Norwest Early Learning and Child Care Centre is seeking a Childcare Assistant - Inclusion Support to join our team at 105 Lucas Ave. This indefinite term position covers morning and late afternoon shifts, with full-day coverage during in-services and holiday breaks.

You will support children with inclusive needs, uphold safety, provide nurturing care, and collaborate with families and staff to meet individual development goals while following centre policies and licensing regulations.

Qualifications

Classification as Child Care Assistant
Strong interpersonal, team building, and communication skills
Current first-aid and CPR certification (Level C)
Good understanding of Manitoba Child Care Program’s Regulations
Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
Must be willing to take initiative
Experience working with inclusion supports an asset
Subject to successful criminal record with vulnerable sector search & child abuse registry check.
Must complete mandatory 40-hour course approved by Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care (within first 6 months of employment)
Must complete Commit to Kids online training immediately upon hire

To follow Centre’s behaviour management policy
To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to know and follow Centre policies and procedures.

Position: Childcare Assistant -INCLUSION SUPPORT (Indefinite Term)

Hours: 7am to 9am and 3:30pm-5:00pm, full day shift on in-services and Holiday Breaks

Shift: available between 7:00am-5:00pm

Salary: As per CUPE contract
