Job summary

Autismservices seeks a Child's Program Coordinator to coordinate and deliver children's programming at city public library branches, from preschool through Grade 8/9, under the Branch Manager and with support from other staff. You will assist in delivering public library services, support IT strategies, reference services, circulation desk operations, and overall library services.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Early Childhood Education (ECE III) or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in related roles.

Employees in this position coordinate and deliver children's programming services (preschool through Grade 8/9) at city public library branches under the supervision of the Branch Manager and with assistance from other branch staff. They also assist in the delivery of public library services, recommend and implement current information technology strategies, provide reference services, operate the circulation desk and support overall library services. They report to the Branch Manager or designate. They use the full range of equipment available and search the library’s electronic information sources. They provide leadership, assist in the orientation and training of branch staff, interact with the public, make independent judgments and display initiative. They work in cooperation with the Adult's Program Coordinator, in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Qualifications
  • Post secondary education in Early Childhood Education (ECE III) or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in related roles.
