Job summary

Fort McMurray Catholic School Division is seeking a Child Care Services Supervisor to oversee the before and after school care program at Good Shepherd Catholic School. The role ensures licensed operation, developmentally appropriate activities, accurate attendance records, and adherence to health, safety and licensing standards.

The successful candidate will hold Alberta Child Care Certification (Level 2 minimum, Level 3 preferred), CPR/First Aid, and be comfortable with inventory management,

Qualifications

• Alberta Child Care Certification – Level 2 minimum; Level 3 preferred.
• Valid First aid with CPR required.
• NVCI, and Food Safe certifications will be assets.
• Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required; proof of Alberta Child Care Certification.
• Fluent computer literacy; working knowledge of MS Office.
• Able to pick up supplies and manage inventory; access to a vehicle preferred.
• Willingness to work split shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure observations, planning and documentation of learning and play using varied techniques.
• Ensure activities are developmentally appropriate and support the whole child.
• Build meaningful relationships with children and promote positive relationships.
• Follow Food Safe practices consistently.
• Engage with children at their level during activities.
• Create an environment that fosters positive behavior in the program.
• Maintain accurate attendance, accident, incident, cleaning and health records.
• Complete paperwork and maintain documentation as required.
• Adhere to licensing, health and accreditation standards.

Job Overview

The Child Care Services “before and after school care” program is a licensed and accredited Child Care Program that operates every school day as well as Non Instructional Fridays. The Fort McMurray Catholic School District requires a Child Care Services worker to provide support at Good Shepherd Catholic School.

Qualifications

• Alberta Child Care Certification – Level 2 is minimum, Preference will be given to those with Level 3
• Valid First aid with CPR required
• NVCI, and Food Safe certification will be considered assets
• The successful candidates must provide a valid criminal reference check and vulnerable sector check and proof of Alberta Child Care Certification
• Have proficient computer knowledge and ability
• Able to pick up supplies and manage inventory – access to a vehicle required
• Be willing and able to work split shifts
