Qualifications

• Food safety certification as required by Alberta Health Services.
• Experience coordinating volunteers or student supervision is preferred.
• Ability to manage inventory and purchases accurately.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, deliver, and organize food items; set up clean, safe serving areas.
• Prepare and serve meals and brown bag lunches with portion control and waste disposal.
• Provide student supervision during meal service and other duties as assigned.
• Enter and reconcile purchase receipts in BMO Spend Dynamics; monitor inventory and expenditures.
• Follow health, safety, and food-handling procedures per Alberta Health Services standards; maintain current Food Services Certification.
• Communicate program needs and scheduling with school administration.
• Organize, monitor, and train volunteers in collaboration with school staff.
• Maintain clean, pest-free environment and proper care of tools and linens.
• Support a positive Catholic environment reflecting school values.

École Good Shepherd School, a grades K-6 school located in Okotoks

St. Mary’s School, a grades K-6 school located in Okotoks

Holy Trinity Academy, a grades 10-12 school located in Okotoks

St. Francis of Assisi, a grades K-9 school located in DeWinton

Holy Spirit Academy, a grades K-6 school located in High River

Notre Dame Collegiate, a grades 7-12 school located in High River

Sacred Heart Academy, a grades K-6 school located in Strathmore

St. Joseph’s Collegiate, a grades 9-12 school located in Brooks

Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy, a grades K-12 school located in Canmore

St. Anthony’s School, a grades K-12 school located in Drumheller

These are temporary part-time positions for the 2026-2027 school year, ranging from 5 to 23 hours per week depending on the school location.

Position responsibilities include:

• Pick up, deliver, and organize food items; set up clean, safe, and inviting food serving areas.
• Prepare and serve food including brown bag lunches while practicing resource mindfulness through measured portions, proper food storage, and the appropriate disposal of waste, recycling, and composting.
• Provide student supervision during meal service and other school operations as assigned.
• Enter and reconcile all purchase receipts in the BMO Spend Dynamics software according to division timelines, while monitoring inventory and maintaining accurate records of purchases, usage, and expenditures.
• Follow all health, safety, and food-handling procedures in compliance with Alberta Health Services standards, maintaining current Food Services Certification as required.
• Communicate with the principal and/or administrative staff regarding program needs, scheduling, or special events.
• Organize, monitor, and support volunteers in conjunction with school administration, including the coordination of substitute volunteers, and providing training in food preparation, serving, and clean up.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and pest-free environment with proper care of tools, equipment, and linens.
• Foster a positive, welcoming atmosphere reflecting the school’s Catholic values.
• Other duties as assigned.
