Job summary

BrightPath Kids in West Henday, AB is seeking a Speech Assistant to support children alongside a Speech Language Pathologist. You will help implement speech goals, plan programming, and foster strong relationships with children and families within a daycare team.

This full-time/contract role offers a positive environment, no evenings or weekends, and comprehensive benefits including a childcare discount.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver’s license.
• CPR & First Aid certification.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Completing follow through on each child’s speech goals.
• Assisting speech and language therapist with implementation.
• Planning and implementing programming based on the needs of the child.
• Effectively communicating and building a relationship with children and families.
• Collaborate with day care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As a Speech Assistant, you will work side-by-side with a Speech Language Pathologist and families to provide support and promote the development of children. Responsibilities include:

• Completing follow through on each child’s speech goals.
• Assisting speech and language therapist with implementation.
• Planning and implementing programming based on the needs of the child.
• Effectively communicating and building a relationship with children and families.
• Collaborate with day care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience working in the child care field or in a position with children who have diverse learning or developmental delays
• Excellent communication skills
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver’s license
• Must meeting province requirements for childcare employment
• CPR & First Aid certification
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
