Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Calgary, AB is seeking a Speech Assistant to work with a Speech Language Pathologist and families to support the development of children. Responsibilities include following through on each child’s speech goals, assisting with implementation, planning and delivering programming, and collaborating with the daycare team.

Requirements include 1–3 years in child care or related settings, CPR & First Aid, access to a vehicle, and provincial childcare eligibility.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in childcare or with children who have diverse learning or developmental delays.
• CPR & First Aid certification is required.
• Must meet provincial childcare employment requirements.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Completing follow through on each child’s speech goals.
• Assisting speech and language therapist with implementation.
• Planning and implementing programming based on the needs of the child.
• Effectively communicating and building a relationship with children and families.
• Collaborate with day care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience working in the child care field or in a position with children who have diverse learning or developmental delays
• Excellent communication skills
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver’s license
• Must meeting province requirements for childcare employment
• CPR & First Aid certification
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
