Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited's Pulp & Paper Division invites Chemical Engineering students to contribute to process engineering projects during the Winter 2027 Work Term in Saint John and Utopia, New Brunswick.

You will support Operations, monitor processes, analyze data, and help improve productivity, quality, and cost while gaining hands-on experience in a large industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering and in good academic standing.
  • Team player with a safety-first mindset.
  • Ability to effectively time manage multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Long-term interest in an engineering career.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support and services to Operations department.
  • Provide process engineering services as part of improvement projects across the site.
  • Process monitoring and data analysis to identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Monitor effluent characteristics and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Participate in troubleshooting of process, environmental and operational issues.

We currently have exciting opportunities within our Pulp & Paper Division operations for Chemical Engineering Students to join our teams in Saint John and Utopia, New Brunswick, for the Winter 2027 Work Term.

Responsibilities
