Job summary

The Tandoori Adda is seeking a Chef to join its on-site kitchen in Fredericton, NB. You will lead kitchen operations, prepare and cook meals, and supervise staff for events and daily service.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience with South and East Indian cuisines, a high school diploma, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. The position is permanent, full-time, at 35 hours per week, paid at 30.10 CAD per hour. Starts as soon as possible.

Qualifications

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen.
  • Cuisine specialties: South Indian, East Indian.
  • Experience in restaurant/banquet settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
  • Create new recipes.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
  • Supervise cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Prepare meals for regular service or special events.
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings and banquets.
  • Plan menus and ensure food quality.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
