Job summary

Target Hospitality Corp. is seeking a dedicated kitchen helper to support the Chef and cooks with daily menu preparation in our remote camp/hotel setting in Alberta. Candidates should have 2+ years of culinary experience and the ability to read and write in English.

You will uphold HACCP standards, operate equipment safely, manage portions, and help serve guests while maintaining high sanitation and safety. Travel and long rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years culinary experience preferably in a remote camp or hotel/hospitality industries or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid food safety certification is an asset.
• First aid certification is an asset.
• Work within a team environment.
• Must be able to work effectively and efficiently with or without supervision.
• Strong prioritization and time management skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel/work long rotations away from home.
• Must be able to pass a background check and urine analysis.
• Must provide your own transportation to and from the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef and cooks with daily menu preparation.
• Maintain a safety culture (following SOPs, JHAs, policies and procedures) as set out by Target Hospitality.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment including grills, slicers, tilt skillets, deep fryers and convection ovens.
• Observe HACCP and FIFO guidelines for storage and disposal of food.
• Prepare meals on the line, grill oven and fryers.
• Serve guests and check for meal scans; ensure proper portion control and sanitation.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in emergency response procedures.
• Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor or manager.
