Job summary

PARC Retirement Living in Kelowna, BC, is seeking a Chef de Partie to join Cristalina PARC. This permanent, full-time role (30-40 hours) runs Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00am–7:00pm, with an hourly rate of CAD 30.15–32.21.

You’ll help create an incredible dining experience and support the culinary team in a vibrant independent-living community. You should have a culinary diploma or equivalent, with two years of relevant experience; Red Seal certification is a strong asset.

Qualifications

• Culinary diploma or equivalent; two years of experience in a similar role.
• Red Seal training and certification are strong assets.
• Food Safe Level 1 and WHMIS certifications; CPR and First Aid a bonus.
• Criminal Record Check and TB test within the first month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Create an incredible dining experience for residents and guests.
• Prepare meals according to established menus with attention to plating and portions.
• Maintain a clean kitchen and work space.
• Receive deliveries, label, store, and rotate food to prevent spoilage.
• Provide input on regular and special-event menus.
• Support the Executive Chef and lead the culinary team as needed.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning and monitoring resident satisfaction in the dining room.

As a PARC Chef de Partie, you’re a key member of our Food and Beverage team, responsible for:

• Creating an incredible dining experience for our residents and guests.
• Helping prepare meals according to our established menus – with close attention to artistic plating, proper portions and safe food-handling procedures.
• Maintaining a clean kitchen and work space.
• Receiving deliveries and safely storing, labelling, and rotating food to prevent spoilage.
• Providing creative input on regular and special-event menus.
• Supporting the Executive Chef by stepping in to lead the culinary team as needed and conducting kitchen audits.
• Assisting kitchen cleaning, including equipment, countertops, and the beverage centre.
• Monitoring resident satisfaction by talking with residents in the dining room.
