Job summary

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a Night Housekeeper for the Cedar Springs PARC location in North Vancouver. This role covers night-shift janitorial and safety duties, with the team serving residents overnight and handling emergencies as first responders.

You will perform cleaning, laundry, phone screening, and security patrols, and respond to resident calls while coordinating with on-call management. A meaningful, living-wage role in a multi-location organization.

Qualifications

• Two years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in hospitality or senior living.
• Solid knowledge of security procedures; building security training is an asset.
• Grade 12 or equivalent; reading/writing English required; WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications are assets.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize common areas according to a set schedule.
• Perform laundry services as needed.
• Answer phones and screen visitors at entry points.

As a PARC Night Housekeeper, you are a caretaker of this vision, responsible for night-shift janitorial and safety/security duties. Most importantly, Night Housekeepers are the first responders in case of overnight emergencies.

This role includes:

• Cleaning and sanitizing common areas according to a pre-set schedule.
• Performing laundry services as needed.
• Answering phone calls and screening visitors at building entry points.
• Conducting security patrols and monitoring video surveillance to ensure resident and staff safety throughout the night.
• Responding to resident calls and emergencies; providing First Aid and contacting emergency services and the on-call manager as required.
• Logging and communicating overnight issues or occurrences.

• You have at least two years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in the hospitality or senior-living industry.
• You have solid knowledge of security procedures. Building security training and/or completion of a Building Services Worker Program are assets, as well.
• You have completed Grade 12 or equivalent, and are able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
• You possess current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications. A Health Care Aide qualification and FOODSAFE Level 1 would be assets, too.
• You’re able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision, and also respond to emergency situations effectively when required.
• You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.
