Job summary

TEN Canada Ltd. in Lachine, QC is seeking a Shunt Driver to move semi-trailers and equipment within the yard and workshop bays.

You will welcome customers, position vehicles for service, perform pre-trip inspections and assist technicians while keeping the work area safe and orderly. The successful candidate will hold a valid Class 1 license with a clean driver’s abstract and have at least one year of shunt driving experience, plus strong customer service skills and the ability to work calmly in

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 License and a clear Driver’s Abstract.
• Experience operating Capacity or Ottawa style shunt trucks is an asset.
• 1 year of shunt driving experience.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work under high pressure.

Responsibilities

• Movement of semi-trailers and other equipment around the yard.
• Welcome customers and ensure vehicles are positioned for service.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections as needed.
• Assist technicians and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Conduct return inspections when necessary.
• Perform inventory checks in the yard.

As a Shunt Driver in our Lachine branch, you’ll be moving semi-trailers and various other pieces of equipment within the yard and workshop bays.

The successful candidate will be performing the following duties:

• Movement of semi-trailers and other various equipment around the yard.
• Welcome customers and ensure vehicles are correctly positioned for service.
• Conducting as-needed pre-trip inspections.
• Assisting technicians and maintaining shop cleanliness.
• Conduct return inspections when necessary.
• Performing inventory checks in the yard

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 License and clear Driver’s Abstract.
• Experience operating Capacity or Ottawa style shunt trucks (asset).
• 1 year of shunt driving experience.
• Strong customer service skills, with demonstrated patience and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
