Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (Charge RN) to provide clinical leadership and coordinate resident care during the shift. You will guide nursing staff, ensure safe, resident-centered care, and manage admissions, transfers, and discharges with required assessments and documentation.

The Charge RN will interface with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and families to promote continuity and safety.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Alberta.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent.
• Experience in long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and coordinate resident care during assigned shift.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, returns from hospital and discharges with required assessments and documentation.
• Direct nursing and care staff and respond to changes in resident condition.
• Ensure thorough documentation, medication reconciliation and adherence to physician/NP orders.
