Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life-safety lines. You will work with low-voltage wiring, complete service acknowledgements, and maintain a structured inspection schedule.

The role requires CFAA certification, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders. Union benefits apply and this is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

• CFAA Certification and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals and specs.
• Experience with hand tools and using a multimeter.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of physical labor; lift up to 50 lbs; climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Flexible to work weekends; adhere to safety guidelines.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and teamwork.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, sprinkler or suppression life-safety lines; perform testing and preventive maintenance.
• Work with low-voltage wiring and related devices.
• Prepare service acknowledgements using laptops or paper.
• Follow structured inspection schedules and document results.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes during inspections.
• Provide technical training to junior inspectors and trainees.
• Complete inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.
