Job summary

Interfor in Castlegar, British Columbia is seeking a Certified Industrial Electrician to support our sawmill, planermill and kiln hot oil systems. The starting rate is CAD $51.245 per hour, with competitive long‑term opportunities and benefits.

You will diagnose and repair electrical equipment, set up PLC and HMI systems, and work safely as part of a team dedicated to reliability and efficiency. Multi-shift availability is required, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification is required.
• Sawmill, planermill and energy systems experience preferred.
• Be willing to work multi-shift schedules.

What You’ll Do

• Work in a safe and efficient manner while following all safety rules and regulations.
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and controls for our sawmill, planermill and kiln hot oil systems.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and repair PLC and HMI systems.
• Solve problems and work as part of a team focused on machine reliability and breakdown prevention.

What You Offer

• Sawmill, planermill and energy systems experience preferred.
• Must be a Red Seal certified journeyman industrial electrician.
• Allen Bradley PLC experience, motion control, and the ability to troubleshoot VFD drives, optimizer systems, and scanners.
• Commitment to maintain a safe work environment without compromise.

• Able to communicate effectively with your team and other departments.

• Must have good computer skills.
• Must be willing to work in a multi-shift work schedule.
• FSR qualification would be considered an asset.
