Job summary

Tolko Industries in High Level, Alberta, is seeking a Red Seal Certified Electrician to join our sawmill team. You will troubleshoot electrical issues using PLCs and HMI systems and keep equipment running safely and reliably.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, installations and upgrades on motors, motion controls, encoders and related systems, while collaborating with teammates to improve reliability. Tolko offers relocation support, competitive wages, benefits and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Experience with CMMS - preferably JD Edwards.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of PLCs and HMI systems to troubleshoot electrical issues and provide safe, reliable fixes.
• Perform preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades on motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
• Develop innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability.

Our High Level Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.

• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferablyJD Edwards.
