Job summary

Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a First Aid Instructor to deliver safe, engaging Red Cross and CAR-certified courses under the supervision of the Aquatic Centre Supervisor and Coordinator.

These flexible, casual roles in the Cougars Athletics and Recreation department may require shifts across days, evenings, and weekends, with a work schedule that could total up to 35 hours per week and end on April 23, 2027. Hourly pay ranges from $25.55 to $32.32, with MRSA union support.

Qualifications

• Current Red Cross First Aid Instructor and valid Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C/AED.
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
• Preference given to applicants with one or more certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver programs in accordance with CAR and Red Cross standards.
• Demonstrate proper techniques effectively for participants of varying skill levels.
• Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Evaluate participant performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing facility rules and proper equipment use.
• Ensure participant safety through supervision, risk assessment and intervention.
• Complete all administrative documentation accurately and on time, including attendance and course records.
• Assist with special events or tasks as needed.
