Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• 1 - 6 months of previous experience.
• Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard certification and valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C/AED.
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Preference given to applicants with Lifesaving Instructor/Examiner/CPR-I or National Lifeguard Instructor.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement swimming lessons in accordance with Lifesaving Society and facility standards.
• Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and rescue skills for various ages and abilities.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and maintain engagement.
• Evaluate participant performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Supervise swimmers during lessons and respond to emergencies.
• Communicate with participants and parents regarding progress, schedules, policies and safety.
• Support community initiatives that promote water safety and recreation.
• Complete lesson plans, progress cards, evaluations and attendance records on time.
• Maintain current certifications and participate in in-service training.
