Job summary

OOTB Art Studio is seeking a Ceramics Instructor to lead beginner-friendly wheel throwing and handbuilding classes. The role emphasizes teaching, a welcoming environment, and helping students build confidence while maintaining studio standards and safety.

You will teach adults, teens, and private events, adapt to various skill levels, and collaborate with studio leadership to improve classes and operations. Flexible part-time scheduling and a supportive community studio are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in wheel throwing and/or handbuilding.
• Able to teach beginners in a clear and encouraging manner.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Evening and weekend availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach wheel throwing and handbuilding classes for adults, teens, and private events.
• Provide clear demonstrations and hands-on coaching.
• Adapt instruction to different skill levels and learning styles.
• Set up and reset workstations, tools, and materials.
• Label and organize student work for drying, bisque firing, glazing, and pickup.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized studio environment.
• Communicate class expectations, firing timelines, and glaze options.
• Create a friendly and welcoming experience for students and guests.
• Collaborate with studio leadership to improve classes and studio operations.
