Job summary

Southern Plains Co-op seeks a Chief Executive Officer/General Manager to lead strategy, governance and financial performance across multiple communities. You will partner with the Board to drive a clear purpose-driven plan and oversee operations that reflect the co‑op's commitment to members and communities.

You bring 7–10 years of leadership in Retail Management, strong budgeting oversight, and a collaborative, trust-based leadership style.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Retail Management across Food, Fuel, Liquor, Home & Building, or Agriculture would be an asset.
• 7–10 years of leadership experience.
• Experience overseeing department operating budgets, timelines, people and processes.

Southern Plains Co-op serves the communities of Estevan, Carlyle, Oxbow, Alameda, Gainsborough and the surrounding rural areas. Locally owned and community focused, our co-operative has been proudly serving our communities for 80 years. From our beginnings in the lumber business in 1957, we have grown to provide essential products and services across Food, Fuel, Liquor, Home & Building, and Agriculture, generating approximately $108 million in annual sales.

Who You Are

You are a recognized leader in Retail Operations and:

• Have a strong background in Retail Management, areas of Food, Fuel, Liquor, Home & Building, or Agriculture would be considered an asset.
• Have 7-10 years of leadership experience (a diploma or degree is an asset but not a requirement).
• Strong skills in overseeing detailed department operating budgets, timelines, people, and processes.
• A reputation for being honest and trustworthy, results-oriented, and striving to be the best in what you do.
• A commitment to building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
