Reporting to the Board of Directors, this executive role leads organizational performance and strategic direction across our diverse operations. You’ll drive growth, profitability, and transformational change while fostering strong stakeholder relationships and aligning initiatives with our mission, vision, and values.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop and execute strategic direction in collaboration with the Board, ensuring alignment with vision, mission, and values.
  • Lead financial stewardship, including budgeting, reporting, risk management, and oversight of capital projects and mergers/acquisitions.
  • Oversee operations to ensure safe, sustainable, and efficient practices, driving innovation and profitability.
  • Provide transformational leadership, guiding recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and fostering a high‑performance culture.
  • Ensure compliance and safety, maintaining adherence to brand standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, including members, customers, FCL, CRS, and community partners, to enhance organizational reputation and growth.
Who you’ll work with:

You will work closely with the Board of Directors, Federated Co-operatives Limited and other organizations within the Co‑operative Retailing System and will have 7 direct report(s). This team strives to cultivate a culture of Community, Integrity, Excellence and Responsibility.

Where you’ll live:

This position is based in the vibrant Stony Plain/Spruce Grove area, offering a welcoming community with excellent amenities and quick access to outdoor recreation. Located just west of Edmonton, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to live in Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, or easily commute from Edmonton and surrounding areas. With a blend of small‑town charm and proximity to a major urban center, this family‑friendly region provides an ideal balance of lifestyle and convenience.

Why it matters:

Our team provides a range of products and services to support our member‑owners. Through the work that we do, we help to build, fuel, feed and grow Western Canadian communities together.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Executive Leadership and:

  • Have 15+ years of management experience across multiple retail commodities (e.g., food stores, gas bars/convenience stores, petroleum, agriculture, pharmacy), with 10+ years leading large teams and complex projects.
  • Have a post‑secondary Bachelor’s degree, (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Are familiar with Corporate Governance & Board Relations.
  • You are honest and trustworthy.
What we offer:
  • Competitive salary, short‑term incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employer‑contributed pension plan.
  • Relocation assistance if necessary to help you transition smoothly into your new community.
  • Encouragement to take advantage of learning opportunities to grow and develop as a Team Member.
  • As a co‑operative, we do business differently. We believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and what we offer, visit https://www.northcentralco‑op.crs/sites/northcentral
