Job summary

Southern Plains Co-op invites applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer/General Manager (CEO/GM) to lead their passionate team and steer strategy, governance, and financial performance for the co-op.

You will work with the Board and Senior Leadership Team to shape a purpose-driven direction, ensure community engagement, and sustain strong operations across Estevan, Carlyle, Oxbow, Alameda, Gainsborough and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of leadership experience in Retail Operations
• Strong background in Retail Management across Food, Fuel, Liquor, Home & Building, or Agriculture is an asset
• Experience overseeing budgets, timelines, people, and processes

Southern Plains Co-op serves the communities of Estevan, Carlyle, Oxbow, Alameda, Gainsborough and the surrounding rural areas. Locally owned and community focused, our co-operative has been proudly serving our communities for 80 years. From our beginnings in the lumber business in 1957, we have grown to provide essential products and services across Food, Fuel, Liquor, Home & Building, and Agriculture, generating approximately $108 million in annual sales.

You will work closely with the Board of Directors and provide leadership to a diverse Senior Leadership Team. As the organization continues to evolve, you will help shape its leadership structure while fostering a culture of integrity, excellence, respect and community.

Who you are:

You are a recognized leader in Retail Operations and:

• Have a strong background in Retail Management, areas of Food, Fuel, Liquor, Home & Building, or Agriculture would be considered an asset.
• Have 7-10 years of leadership experience (a diploma or degree is an asset but not a requirement).
• Strong skills in overseeing detailed department operating budgets, timelines, people, and processes.
• A reputation for being honest and trustworthy, results-oriented, and striving to be the best in what you do.
• A commitment to building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
