Job Summary

Working as the Catering Sales Manager, you will effectively coordinate and oversee all internal and external catering events. You will be responsible for menu development, costing, and marketing functions related to catering. You will implement labor and food cost controls, oversee preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and clean-up of all events.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop managers; actively participate in developing service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures.
• Create reports on operating statements and budgets; review collection of receivables.
• Plan and direct catering activities, bookings, and functions.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders.
• Monitor budgets, financial targets, and forecasts.
• Maintain local client database; build and sustain relationships with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation procedures per HACCP standards.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Proven track record of meeting sales goals.
• Strong knowledge of current food industry trends and fine dining service points.
• At least 3-5 years of hospitality industry experience, including 2 years in catering sales.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training, and coaching skills.
• Ability to assess client requirements and ensure client satisfaction.
• Ability to write menu proposals in consultation with chefs.
• Supervision of food preparation, service, and cleanup is essential.
• Knowledge of A/V equipment setup and breakdown for events.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategizing skills.
• Leadership, organizational skills, and adaptability.
• Attention to detail.
• Advanced computer skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proactive, calm under pressure, and supportive of business changes.
• High standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior.
• Exceptional client relations and customer service skills.
