Job Description - Category Lead, Strategic Sourcing
Responsibilities:
- Partner with external stakeholders and end users to create Capital Equipment contracts, including all source-to-contract procurement activities.
- Develop expertise across procurement areas such as product and capital equipment knowledge, clinical practices, new technologies, supply chain issues, and market trends.
- Manage multiple high-priority solutions based on competitive processes.
- Ensure strategy performance and contract management targets are met in collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Identify new opportunities for Capital Equipment contracts to expand services within the HealthPRO Canada membership.
- Work with hospital end users to develop contracts tailored to their requirements.
- Renew existing contracts according to schedules.
- Oversee the contracting process from strategy development to implementation.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with suppliers and members.
- Develop contract strategies that align with Member requirements for optimal outcomes.
- Assess suppliers’ market participation capabilities based on current trends.
- Promote a culture of cohesiveness and inclusion within the team.
- Support the growth and development of team members through mentoring and coaching.
- Collaborate with Member Success to resolve contract issues and meet member needs.
- Manage financial and budget submissions and track portfolio performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience in strategic sourcing, including planning, award, and management of RFX documents and processes.
- Proven ability in solutions-based competitive processes such as negotiations and market sounding.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail.
- Leadership qualities focused on goal achievement and team motivation.
- Ability to facilitate consensus among stakeholders through meetings and virtual communication.
- Professionalism in managing internal and external clients.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Over 5 years of experience in Canadian Public Procurement, healthcare preferred.
- 2-3 years of team management experience.
- Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) designation or in progress.
