Job Description - Category Lead, Strategic Sourcing

Responsibilities:

1. Partner with external stakeholders and end users to create Capital Equipment contracts, including all source-to-contract procurement activities.
2. Develop expertise across procurement areas such as product and capital equipment knowledge, clinical practices, new technologies, supply chain issues, and market trends.
3. Manage multiple high-priority solutions based on competitive processes.
4. Ensure strategy performance and contract management targets are met in collaboration with external stakeholders.
5. Identify new opportunities for Capital Equipment contracts to expand services within the HealthPRO Canada membership.
6. Work with hospital end users to develop contracts tailored to their requirements.
7. Renew existing contracts according to schedules.
8. Oversee the contracting process from strategy development to implementation.
9. Build and maintain trusting relationships with suppliers and members.
10. Develop contract strategies that align with Member requirements for optimal outcomes.
11. Assess suppliers’ market participation capabilities based on current trends.
12. Promote a culture of cohesiveness and inclusion within the team.
13. Support the growth and development of team members through mentoring and coaching.
14. Collaborate with Member Success to resolve contract issues and meet member needs.
15. Manage financial and budget submissions and track portfolio performance.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in strategic sourcing, including planning, award, and management of RFX documents and processes.
2. Proven ability in solutions-based competitive processes such as negotiations and market sounding.
3. Strong project management skills with attention to detail.
4. Leadership qualities focused on goal achievement and team motivation.
5. Ability to facilitate consensus among stakeholders through meetings and virtual communication.
6. Professionalism in managing internal and external clients.
7. Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs.
8. Excellent English language skills.
9. Over 5 years of experience in Canadian Public Procurement, healthcare preferred.
10. 2-3 years of team management experience.
11. Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) designation or in progress.
