Job summary

GardaWorld in Whitbourne, Newfoundland, is seeking a Casual Security Guard for the Vale – Long Harbour site to support security operations on a unionized shift basis. The role requires a clean driving record, valid certification, and readiness to work day and night rotations.

You will conduct vehicle searches, monitor access, prepare reports, and collaborate with site personnel. The position offers on-call hours, growth potential, and uniform provision.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract (must be obtained from Motor Registration).
• High School Diploma
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to read and write reports clearly and accurately
• Previous security experience preferred
• Completion of a recognized security course is an asset
• Be authorized to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle searches as required
• Monitor and control site access and security operations
• Complete detailed and accurate reports
• Remain available and flexible for shift coverage as needed
• Stand and patrol for extended periods
• Work collaboratively with team members and site personnel
• Act as Team Lead when required, including supervising staff, making decisions, and ensuring site protocols are followed

Mandatory Requirements For Casual Security Guard

• No prior criminal convictions or history of offences
• Must obtain a Certificate of Conduct from both Court and Police
• Must be willing to undergo Drug and Alcohol testing (if selected)
• Must be able to work rotational shifts (days and nights)
