Job summary

GardaWorld is hiring a Casual Security Guard at the Vale – Long Harbour site in Whitbourne, NL. You’ll adapt quickly to changing missions, maintain site security, and support team operations on a casual, on-call basis.

The role offers an hourly wage of CAD 21.16, with Unionized environment and growth opportunities. Uniforms are provided, and you may take on Team Lead responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• High School Diploma required
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Able to read/write reports clearly and accurately
• Previous security experience preferred
• Completion of a recognized security course is an asset
• Authorized to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle searches as required
• Monitor and control site access and security operations
• Complete detailed and accurate reports
• Remain available and flexible for shift coverage (days/nights)
• Stand and patrol for extended periods
• Collaborate with team and site personnel
• Act as Team Lead when required, supervising staff and enforcing site protocols

Responsibilities for Casual Security Guard

• Conduct vehicle searches as required
• Monitor and control site access and security operations
• Complete detailed and accurate reports
• Remain available and flexible for shift coverage as needed
• Stand and patrol for extended periods
• Work collaboratively with team members and site personnel
• Act as Team Lead when required, including supervising staff, making decisions, and ensuring site protocols are followed

Qualifications for Casual Security Guard

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract (must be obtained from Motor Registration)
• High School Diploma
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to read and write reports clearly and accurately
• Previous security experience preferred
• Completion of a recognized security course is an asset
• Be authorized to work in Canada

Mandatory Requirements for Casual Security Guard

• No prior criminal convictions or history of offences
• Must obtain a Certificate of Conduct from both Court and Police
• Must be willing to undergo Drug and Alcohol testing (if selected)
• Must be able to work rotational shifts (days and nights)
