Job summary

GardaWorld in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Casual Transport Guard to join our Security Services team. This role offers an hourly wage of 24.53 CAD, comprehensive benefits, and access to GardaWorld Academy training.

You will work flexible shifts, protect people and assets, escort detainees as needed, conduct patrols, and report incidents with accuracy. The ideal candidate holds a valid Alberta Security Guard License, First Aid Level 1, and is able to pass required screenings.

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid Level 1 is required.
• Must have resided in Canada for past 5 years for reliability clearances.
• Must be able to drive company vehicle for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the protection of individuals, property, and assets within the facility.
• Escort detainees within the premises using restraints as necessary for safety.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with individuals under stress.
• Observe and monitor detainee behaviour and report concerns.
• Conduct regular foot patrols – both indoors and outdoors.
• Utilize security software and equipment effectively.
• Conduct frequent wellness checks.
• Generate accurate incident and daily reports.
• Respond swiftly to emergency situations using tactical de‑escalation techniques.

Qualifications for Casual Transport Guard

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent (proof of education required)
• Able to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high‑pressure situations
• Strong communication and customer service skills
