Job summary

Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) seeks a Casual Liquor Agent in Grande Prairie. You will partner with an AGLC Inspector to verify establishments check IDs for cannabis and liquor purchases.

Open to candidates without experience; on-the-job training provided. Must be 18+, appear under 25, and be eligible to work in Canada. Security clearance may be required and visits travel across Alberta.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants who have not yet completed their Grade 12 Diploma are encouraged to apply; they must indicate anticipated completion date.
  • Successful candidate must meet the minimum legal age requirement of 18 years at time of employment.
  • Must reasonably appear under 25 to comply with program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Enter licensed cannabis and liquor establishments with an inspector to verify IDs when attempting to purchase.
  • Collect evidence and prepare written reports of visits.
  • Appear at administrative hearings to give evidence if required.
  • Travel with inspectors to establishments in urban and rural Alberta.

JOB SUMMARY

Please Note: This is a casual opportunity for one year with no experience necessary.On the jobtraining will be provided.

As aCasual Liquor Agent, you will be partnered with an AGLC Inspector, where your primary responsibility will be to enter licensed cannabis and liquor establishments and attempt topurchasecannabis and liquor to verify establishments are checking identification (ID).

In Alberta, a licensed establishmentis required toask anyone whoappears to beunder the age of 25 to provide ID whenattemptingto purchase cannabis or liquor.

While conducting visits, Casual Liquor Agents willbe responsible forthe collection of sufficient evidence, taking mental notes of the event, followed by the submission of written reports. Agents may alsobe requiredto appear at administrative hearings to give evidence.

The position is flexible and will accommodate weekdays, evenings, nights, or weekends. Travel with Inspectors to licensed liquor and cannabis establishments in both urban and rural Alberta!

Candidates must meet the operationalrequirementof youthful appearance.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Completion of a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent isrequired.
