Job summary

A provincial regulatory agency in Canada is seeking an iGaming Investigator to lead investigations and ensure compliance within Alberta's growing iGaming market. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of regulatory or investigative experience, strong knowledge of gaming legislation, and exceptional communication skills. AGLC is leading the way as Alberta enters the exciting world of regulated iGaming! Our Regulatory Services Division is building a brand-new team from the ground up, and we’re looking for experienced professionals to help shape the future of online gaming compliance in Alberta.


As an iGaming Investigator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring integrity and compliance within Alberta’s iGaming market. Reporting to the Supervisor, iGaming, you will conduct complex investigations of registered iGaming operators and suppliers to ensure adherence to provincial legislation, AGLC Board policies, and the Criminal Code. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to a growing industry and make a meaningful impact in a highly visible, evolving regulatory environment.



What you’ll do:


  • Lead sensitive investigations into iGaming operators and suppliers, including online reviews, audits, and covert or overt operations.

  • Monitor emerging iGaming risks and industry trends to adapt compliance strategies.

  • Process registration applications for iGaming providers, ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with law enforcement, other regulators, and international gaming authorities.

  • Represent AGLC at public meetings and provide training to peers and students.

  • Prepare detailed reports and evidence for administrative and legal proceedings.



SKILLS & ABILITIES


  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.

  • 5+ years of regulatory or investigative experience with a gaming regulator, law enforcement agency, or similar organization.

  • Strong knowledge of gaming legislation and compliance standards; familiarity with online gaming operations is an asset.

  • Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel, including working flexible hours to accommodate different time zones.
