Job summary

NorQuest College in Edmonton is seeking an Instructional Assistant I to support in-person and online learning within the School of Language and Community Studies. This role provides instructional, administrative, technology, and learner support to help instructors focus on teaching while helping learners participate in classroom, lab, and applied learning activities.

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a post-secondary certificate or diploma in education or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting learners, instructors, clients, or programs in educational/community settings is required.
• Proficiency with LMS, virtual classrooms, and common office software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide learner support and tutorial services by responding to questions and monitoring progress.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources for learning activities.
• Modify and adapt materials based on learner needs and instructions.
• Support attendance tracking, assignment organization, and communications with learners.
• Assist learners during classroom, lab, and work-integrated activities.
• Facilitate workshops and coordinate logistics for events and field trips.
• Maintain attendance and learner progress records and related documentation.
• Monitor safety and ensure compliance with campus policies.
