Responsibilities

About the Position

Lethbridge Polytechnic offers a student-centered environment that provides practical and innovative learning experiences. The Centre for Business, Arts, and Sciences (CBAS) delivers a range of certificate, diploma, university transfer programs, together with student support services including Testing Services

The Centre seeks to recruit to the position of Casual Invigilator in testing services. The invigilator, reporting to the Dean, CBAS, is responsible for assisting with testing operations for computer based and accommodated testing in our secure testing environment. Invigilators will also be responsible for maintaining a safe exam environment. The main shift will be during the working day, Monday to Friday, although evening shifts may be required.

The successful candidate will possess an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all members of the polytechnic community (staff, students and faculty) and make a positive contribution as a member of the Testing services team.

Position Details

The Invigilator Must Be Able To Demonstrate The Utmost Degree Of Professionalism And Integrity While Maintaining Precise Attention To Detail. The Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Understanding and enforcing security and privacy requirements.
• Verifying test taker identities and ensuring only approve materials enter the testing environment.
• Using computer software to check in test takers and monitor test room activity.
• Observing candidate activity to ensure no unauthorized communication or materials are used.
• Reporting and documenting instances of academic misconduct.
• Assisting test takers with enquiries and technical issues.
• Regular cleaning/disinfecting of exam stations and other shared materials
• Completion of administrative paperwork.
• Supporting exams for students with accommodations
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of post secondary experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of internal and external clients in a professional manner.
• Extensive knowledge and proficiency in MS Office Software including Excel, and Word is required.
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work precisely with meticulous adherence to security and privacy guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in examination supervision

Salary

AUPE Class Level 2, Step 2 $19.80 per hour
