Job summary

The London District Catholic School Board is seeking Casual Early Childhood Educators to join our team in London, Ontario. Successful candidates will work with teachers to support children's cognitive, physical, social, faith, and literacy development on a casual, call-out basis.

Start date is immediate; duties follow the Ministry and school board guidelines. Candidates must hold a two-year ECE diploma, be Ontario-registered, and can expect compensation of $26.80 per hour plus 4% vacation.

Qualifications

• Two-year community college diploma in Early Childhood Education and Ontario ECE certification.
• Understanding of Catholic Education and the Board's mission.
• Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Education Early Learning Program and related legislation.
• Ability to assist children in routines and activities; physical capability for extended periods.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with teachers; experience in educational settings is preferred.
• French language ability is an asset; current First Aid/CPR certification required.

Casual Early Childhood Educators

Reporting to the Principal, the Casual Early Childhood Educator will team up with the teacher and collaborate in the delivery of programs that will enhance children’s cognitive, physical, social, Catholic faith and emotional development and communication, language and literacy. Successful candidates will be placed on the “call out list", and will be contacted as required in London, Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford counties.

This position exists to provide casual replacement coverage for an existing role within the organization and is subject to the availability of work, in accordance with operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Two-year community college diploma in Early Childhood Education with a minimum of one year of experience preferably in an educational setting
• Certification with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
• Possess an understanding and appreciation of Catholic Education and the mission of the London District Catholic School Board
• Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Early Learning Program, curriculum, and related legislation (refer to the Ministry of Education’s website)
• Ability to assist children in washroom routines, dressing and lunchtime activities
• Physically able to assist children as required, such as stand/walk/crouch for extended periods, move/carry equipment for the program
• The ability to communicate in French is an asset
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
• Current First Aid and CPR certification

Start Date: Immediately Salary: $26.80/hour + 4% vacation
