Job summary

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board is recruiting Early Childhood Educators for daily casual work across BGCDSB schools for the 2026/2027 school year. ECEs will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a Catholic early learning program, provide supervision, and contribute to children’s developmental progress.

Qualifications include a post-secondary ECE credential (or in progress), registration with the Ontario College of ECE, and experience in an Early Learning Centre

Short and Long-term contracts may be available for application once accepted to our ECE List

Duties:

Reporting to the Principal, the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full day Catholic early learning program. The ECE will provide supervision and age-appropriate programming, and will collaborate in the design of program, which will enhance children's cognitive, physical, emotional and spiritual development.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Completion of a post-secondary education program inEarly Childhood Education (or in progress);
• Registered member, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators;
• Recent experience as an ECE working in an Early Learning Centre or Daycare;
• Experience planning and implementing age appropriate programs;
• Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Early Learning Program, including the Extended Day Program and related legislation;
• Ability to communicate effectively in a sensitive and courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public;
• Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality;
• Ability to deal with difficult situations and to take appropriate action in stressful and/or emergency situations, according to policies and procedures;
• Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
• A vulnerable sector check valid within 6 months from date of hire is a condition of hire with the Board.
