Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Calgary is seeking an Early Childhood Educator for a casual/substitute role. You will work with teachers and families to provide a nurturing home-like environment, implement BrightPath curriculum, and support children's development.

Requirements include ECE certification or B.Ed./Equivalent, provincial childcare eligibility, and current First Aid and CPR. Eligible employees receive a 40% childcare discount for full-time staff and 10% for part-time, plus benefits and time off.

Qualifications

• First Aid and infant CPR certification are required.
• Must meet provincial childcare employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a program aligned with BrightPath’s curriculum to support child development.
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment and protect children’s well-being.
• Assess each child’s abilities and discuss progress with parents and staff.
• Collaborate with colleagues, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath’s curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Early Childhood Education - Level 1, 2, or 3 Certification OR B.Ed./Equivalent
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
