Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care in Cambridge, ON is seeking a Casual Early Childhood Assistant to support RECEs in the classroom and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will interact with children, foster participation in activities, and collaborate with families and staff. The role offers a stable schedule with no evenings or weekends and includes medical/dental benefits, vacation, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR.
• Immunization/health assessment per local requirements.
• Experience in planning and implementing childcare programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist RECEs with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment for children.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Establish collaborative relationships with colleagues and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Keep classroom materials clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

• Assisting RECE’s with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well‑being of children.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School/Equivalent required, Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred
• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.
