Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care Career Center in Cambridge, ON is hiring for an Early Childhood Educator/Assistant. Pay range is $17.70–$18.00 per hour.

This casual role offers no evenings or weekends and opportunities to grow within BrightPath Kids, part of the Busy Bees global childcare community. Responsibilities include supporting RECEs, maintaining a safe, engaging classroom, and collaborating with families.

Qualifications

• High School/Equivalent required; Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist RECEs with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for children.
• Engage with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Collaborate with co-workers, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator/Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting RECE’s with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well‑being of children.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School/Equivalent required, Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred
• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.
