Job summary

Karis Disability Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist people with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. You will help individuals live fully in the community, support daily living tasks, and promote independence and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred: 3–6 Months (volunteer or employment).
• Education in related field preferred: Developmental Services Worker, CYC, or related post-secondary program.
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Access to reliable transportation.

• Assist people with daily living in home and community settings.
• Support people's rights and personal growth, enabling community participation.
• Help individuals learn skills for growth and development and maintain connections to their supports.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

Pay rate $22.99
