Job summary

The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is seeking Casual Caretakers to support cleaning, maintenance and security across its school sites.

Casual Caretakers work on-call with day, evening, or Saturday shifts; requires secondary education, one year related experience, WHMIS knowledge, ability to perform physically demanding work, and access to a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

• Some secondary school education where the ability to read and write has been developed.

• basic knowledge of mechanical systems.

Job Description:

The Caretaker:

• performs cleaning and general maintenance of school interior/exterior, in accordance with established standards;
• performs daily routine security and safety checks;
• performs other duties, as assigned.

Status:

Casual Caretakers work on-call and must be available days, evenings, or Saturdays at various school locations.

Annual (or Hourly) Salary:

$20.70/hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation. The hourly wage effective as of September 1st, 2025, is $21.70/hour.
