Job description

Location: Vanderhoof, BC.

We’re building a list of reliable, motivated casual employees to support operations at our fertilizer plant this fall. Work will run from October 1 to mid/late November, with potential for day and night shifts. Ideal for those interested in seasonal work each Spring and Fall.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Agro Store Manager you will be responsible for:

• Demonstrating Four Rivers Co-operative’s values of Responsibility, Integrity, Service, and Excellence

• Working co-operatively with team members who deliver excellent service to make all guests of our Co-op feel “at home here.”

• Providing proper storage of yard and warehouse merchandise

• Unloading supplier trucks and loading customer vehicles and coordinating the proper warehousing of products

• Performing general upkeep of the facility including keeping yard and storage areas organized and clean

• Developing and maintaining effective business relationships with customers and coworkers

• Following all company and industrial regulations, policies, and procedures including Health and Safety program are always adhered to

• Operating and maintaining the fertilizer plant

• Carrying out the preventative maintenance program and conducting minor repairs all year around

What you bring:

• Experience in the Agriculture industry in a similar position considered an asset

• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work outside in all weather conditions

• Being a team member with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands

• Comfortable working around heavy machinery, noise and dust; mechanically inclined

• Forklift/bobcat and other equipment operating experience would be considered an asset

• A valid driver’s license is required

• Able to repetitively pull, lift and carry 50 lbs throughout each shift

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering customer service that goes that extra mile

• A team member with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

• Committed to quality with an eye for detail
