Job summary

Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver is seeking a part-time Cashier to support daily financial operations within the Administration department. You will handle cash, deposits, and related documentation with accuracy and integrity, reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and English communication skills. Flexible hours including weekends and holidays are common, with benefits available for full-time staff and opportunities for training

Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Experience handling cash or related work experience preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
  • Flexibility with hours due to business requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel & Outlook, Siriusware and Squirrel preferred.
  • Background checks required; Grouse Mountain assists with process if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining custody of the main safe cash float.
  • Preparing daily cash and credit card summary report.
  • Maintaining ATM machines.
  • Collecting daily cash envelopes from drop safes and preparing bank deposits.
  • Ensuring all envelopes dropped are accounted for.
  • Counting funds received.
  • Responding to inquiries from the Accounting Department in a timely manner.
  • Collecting grouse charge receipts and preparing periodic reporting.
  • Collecting invoicing vouchers & sending to Head Office.
  • Reconciling F&B envelopes with Triple Seat system.
  • Identifying and reporting problems in cash drops.
  • Preparing cash floats.
  • Placing change orders as required.
  • Other duties as required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Cashier position plays a critical role in supporting daily financial operations by ensuring the accurate handling, reconciliation, and reporting of transactions and any related documentation. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of cash procedures, preparing deposits, and managing financial records in alignment with company standards. Reliable, detail oriented and organized applicants with cash handling and administrative experience who enjoy working in a mountain environment are encouraged to apply.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collecting invoicing vouchers & preparing file to send to Head Office
  • Collecting invoicing receipt from F&B dropped envelopes & reconciling with catering booking system Triple Seat.
  • Identifying & reporting problems in cash drops
  • Preparing cash floats
  • Placing change orders as required
  • Other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports to the Senior Director, Human Resources.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
  • Completion of secondary school
  • Experience handling cash or related work experience preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and record keeping
  • Flexibility with hours due to business requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience using Microsoft (Excel & Outlook), Siriusware and Squirrel preferred
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide results of a clear background check valid within six months of the hire date before starting work. Grouse Mountain will assist with this process if the applicant does not have a valid background check.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$19.28 to $22.55/hour
