Job summary

Emera Inc. is seeking a Cash Specialist in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to join its Corporate Treasury team. The role covers cash forecasting, liquidity management, and treasury governance in a high-value environment.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Treasury, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize treasury systems and automate processes, while ensuring SOX compliance and strong controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline with 5+ years in cash management or treasury operations
• Professional designation (CTP, CPA, CFA) completion or progress towards a designation is an asset
• Experience in cash forecasting and liquidity management
• Advanced Excel skills for cash forecasting, analysis, reporting, and reconciliation; openness to AI-assisted tools
• Strong knowledge of cash management principles, liquidity planning, and banking services
• Experience with treasury management systems and ERP platforms; familiarity with Oracle and Kyriba is a plus
• Understanding of banking products including electronic payments, collections, and account administration
• Ability to build relationships with banking partners and internal stakeholders
• Continuous improvement mindset to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash forecasting and liquidity management activities
• Generate cash management reports for treasury and Finance leadership
• Support month-end and year-end reporting requirements
• Execute and manage debt, interest, and equity-related payments with compliance to schedules and controls
• Manage bank account openings, closings, and documentation
• Administer banking services, DOA governance for debt and FX transactions
• Resolve banking access issues and day-to-day treasury matters
• Ensure adherence to SOX requirements and treasury governance standards
• Collaborate with treasury, tax, and accounting to optimize Kyriba usage
• Lead treasury transformation, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
