Emera is seeking an IT Auditor for its Internal Audit team in Halifax, offering a permanent role with hybrid work. You will perform IT assurance activities, including SOX ITGC testing, and collaborate with enterprise-wide teams across the US, Canada and the Caribbean.

Ideal candidates bring a background in IT audit or IT controls, a relevant degree, and a drive to pursue certifications. This role supports growth within a dynamic energy company that values integrity and professional development.

Qualifications

• SOX ITGC testing or auditing experience is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Accounting, or related business discipline.
• Pursuit of certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CIA, or PMP is encouraged.
• Strong communication skills and understanding of enterprise risk and governance.

Responsibilities

• Execute IT general controls testing within SOX framework.
• Maintain relationships with business IT teams and leadership across affiliates.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and risk management.
• Monitor remediation of audit issues and provide ongoing advisory support.
• Ensure deliverables meet budget and schedule requirements.
• Assist with risk assessments and testing program development.
• Support assurance engagements and provide technical IT advisory input.
