Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a Caseworker/Chaplain to supervise and support clients in a Belkin House setting. The role combines case management with Christian pastoral care within a residential/shelter context, following approved policies and funding contracts.

This permanent, full-time position runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. It requires post-secondary study in social services and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal post-secondary/college program in Social Service or related field.
• Two years of experience in case management, outreach or group facilitation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professional role modeling for residents and staff.
• Develop and monitor case plans, PDPs, and discharge plans.
• Provide crisis intervention, counselling and emotional support as required.
• Coordinate with police, funders, and community agencies.
• Recruits and trains volunteers; maintains records and reports.
