Job summary

JEN COL Construction is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter or Apprentice to join our team in Red Deer, Alberta. You will construct, erect, install, maintain, and repair structures using wood, steel, and related materials under supervision.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, laying out tasks, building frames, insulating, drywalling, and finishing interior spaces while adhering to Lean processes and safety standards. You will work on-site in varying weather and site conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience with carpentry in commercial/institutional construction.
• Ability to read blueprints and building specifications.
• Lean practices familiarity is a plus.
• Adherence to safety policies is required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety regulations and follow safe work practices at all times.
• Read and interpret blueprints for work planning.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment.
• Layout of tasks including foundations, partitions, parapets, etc.
• Build concrete forms, foundations, framing, and scaffolding as needed.
• Insulate, drywall, mud/tape, and paint.
• Frame and install doors/windows, floors, ceilings, and trim.
• Check accuracy of work and make adjustments as required.
• Transport materials to the work area as needed.
• Contribute to and participate in the Quality Control System.
