Omnia Training in St. Albert, AB, seeks a Journeyman Red Seal Carpenter Instructor to deliver classroom, shop, and field instruction while mentoring students in a safe learning environment.

The role requires extensive carpentry experience, strong communication, and a passion for developing Alberta's skilled trades workforce; ideal for someone transitioning from on-site work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.
• Experience reading blueprints, construction math, estimating, and building code requirements.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Responsabilités

• Deliver carpentry theory and practical training to adult learners.
• Instruct students in safe work practices, tool usage, framing, foundations, concrete work, finishing, and construction techniques.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, training materials, and practical exercises.
• Evaluate student performance through written, practical, and competency-based assessments.
• Ensure all shop and training activities comply with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Maintain training equipment, tools, and instructional materials.
• Support curriculum development aligned with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) standards.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to students to support successful employment outcomes.
• Participate in program planning, continuous improvement, and industry engagement activities.
