Job summary

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is seeking skilled carpenters for industrial formwork on the DOW project. This full-time role requires CSTS-20, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry Monitor certifications and the ability to read drawings, plan layouts and erect formwork.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 kg, work in all weather conditions and mentor apprentices while maintaining safety on site. Fluency in English is essential; pre-employment drug testing may apply.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Interpreting and applying information found in drawings, specifications
• Undertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials).
• Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.
• Cutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue.
• Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location.
• General carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.

Requirements and Experience

• CSTS-20 Certificate
• Fall Protection
• Confined Space Entry Monitor
• Experience as a Formwork Carpenter in an industrial construction environment
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
• Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Project: DOW FSP2Z

Rate: $29.63 to $49.38 per hour

Overtime: as per collective agreement

Schedule: 5x2, 6am start 10 hours/day.
