Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking experienced Carpenter Apprentices and Journeypersons for our BioSolids project in Winnipeg, MB. You will interpret drawings, prepare formwork, and perform carpentry duties on an industrial site while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• CSTS-20 Certificate.
• Fall Protection – In Class.
• Experience as a Carpenter in an industrial construction environment.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting and applying information found in drawings, specifications.
• Undertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials).
• Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.
• Cutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue.
• Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location.
• General carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.

Position Overview
