Job description

Goals & Outcomes

Assist with a variety of projects at various sites. Customer service and attention to detail are critical skills to ensure that projects are completed to Customer specifications.

Responsibilities Include

  1. Efficiently completes all daily work orders in a specific amount of time.
  2. Communicate any delays in completing a work order with the supervisor.
  3. Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  4. Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layouts and determine the dimensions and materials required.
  5. Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  6. Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools.
  7. Select and order lumber or other required materials.
  8. Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports.
  9. Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
  10. Inspect ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
  11. Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
  12. Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace them using hand tools.
  13. Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses or buildings using paint, hand tools, or paneling.
Work Environment/Physical Demands

  1. Lift 75 lbs.
  2. Work long hours.
  3. Experience using hand tools.
  4. Experience using small power tools.
  5. Take direction from supervisors.
  6. Detail oriented.
  7. Fast learner.
  8. Red Seal is a plus.
  9. Valid Full driver's license.
  10. Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as the ability to complete a company-specific safety orientation.
