Qualifications

  • Certified Level 2, 3, 4 Apprentice or Red Seal Carpenter required.
  • 3-5 years experience in the construction industry is an asset.

Apprentice/Carpenter - Mikisiw Construction Ltd. (MCL)

MCL is hiring Apprentices and Carpenters to join our team. MCL is an Indigenous general contractor in Winnipeg who completes projects throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. Our team has a shared passion for being a key contributing member to the future of our communities through the projects that we pursue, with a strong focus on upholding the craftsmanship of the carpentry trade and building trusting relationships with our clients.

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will work under the direction of the Site Superintendent. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Operation of hand/power tools
  2. Knowledge in concrete forming, rebar placing and rebar tying
  3. Ability to perform manual labour, carry materials, tools, and equipment
  4. Proper care and attention of company tools and equipment
  5. Prepare work areas for subtrades
  6. Physical endurance to lift 50lbs at a time
  7. Good interpersonal/communication skills when working with sub trades and other team members
Qualifications & Skills
  1. Certified Level 2, 3, 4 Apprentice or Red Seal Carpenter
  2. 3-5 years experience in the construction industry an asset
  3. Reliable
  4. Understands and follows safety policies, safe work practices and safe job procedures
  5. Ability to work in variable climatic conditions
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks
  7. Communicates effectively with co-workers and supervisors
