Job summary

SNL Techlink in Toronto, Ontario seeks a construction worker with 1 year to under 2 years experience to perform on-site renovations and building tasks. You will read blueprints, measure, cut, fit windows and doors, and help renovate residences and wooden structures.

On-site role requiring a secondary school diploma. Day-to-day work includes handling hand tools, working in noisy and dusty environments, and traveling via public transit.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
• Experience with reading blueprints, drawings and sketches is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
